Creative Discoveries was established by a group of professionals with over twenty years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education.
Through our interactions with child care providers and educators, we saw the need for a developmentally appropriate program that would enable busy providers and teachers to spend less time planning and preparing activities and materials, yet still ensure a quality program for children. Our goal is to provide a wide variety of open-ended activities that meet the individual needs of children, regardless of their age or abilities.
In addition to the unique materials that we provide, activities often make use of common household items that otherwise would have been thrown away. This commitment to the environment filters down to the children and their families as they look for new ways to recycle items. Involvement of families is encouraged to enhance the home/child care connection and gives parents an understanding of the many ways a provider can facilitate learning.
CMARC employs and serves people with a broad range of mental and physical challenges. The programs and services provided range from career and community skills development to on-site speech, occupational, and physical therapy.
Each each kit, our curriculum specialist creates a wonderful grouping of activities for young children. We order "materials" for our kits from all over the country, and scout the recycling world for additional, unique materials. Creative Discoveries curriculum kits are multi-dimensional, fuzzy, and fun. CMARC employees are also stimulated by the multi-sensory materials that are used. As they cut, count, assemble the assorted packages and prepare kits for shipment, they learn and practice valuable skills. Robin Harwood, Director of Marketing and Operations at CMARC tells us "Our staff really enjoys the assembly of the Creative Discoveries Curriculum. The colors, textures, and toys are therapeutic, and the people that work here really look forward to the kit assembly."
We congratulate CMARC on receiving the highest accreditation possible from the National Rehabilitation and Accreditation Commission. This is a true indication of CMARCs dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of disabled citizens.
